Hi there, this is Andrew Smith The Musicians Life Coach with a question for you: The question today is “Do you aid or hinder your own success?”
What I have to say today is particularly intended for musicians, especially singer songwriters; which is the niche market I have been working with, alongside coaching members of the general public, since late 2006. However, the principles can be applied to any one who has a particular lifetime or career goal in mind.
Sometimes all we need to do, to make our dreams come true, is to nail our colours to the mast! To take action born of a definite purpose and belief, that our dreams can become our reality! That’s why almost four years ago; after much thought, I finally took the decision to become a Life Coach and why I tell people today I’m “living the dream!”
Sadly, it’s easy to give up; but one observation I’ve made from reading many biographies of musicians and others, a particular passion of mine, is that those who have succeeded in life are those who have NEVER given up, even AFTER their dreams became their reality!
Whilst attending many music gigs over the years, I have seen the known, the yet to be known and the unknown entertain appreciative crowds of music lovers. I believe I have something to offer to the “yet to be known” musician if that’s you; maybe it’s the missing ingredient that will take you from where you are to where you want to be with your life and your music? That “something” is called Life Coaching!
The tools of Life Coaching will help you to understand how your mind works and how so much of the way you think and what you believe, has been absorbed by you subconsciously - that is, without your express permission! It’s a tragedy that we are sometimes our own worst enemies; in fact in the end analysis we are the only ones who can prevent our own life’s successes!
Our beliefs about the world around us, our value system and the rules we impose upon ourselves can have a positive or a negative effect on our intended life purpose without us even realising it! Many of these beliefs, values and rules, we have assented to in a passive way. Our passion, our certainty and especially our outcome are all defined within our own thinking. As your Life Coach, I can help you to understand what is holding you back from becoming the success that you have always intended to be.
I hope that I’ve given you food for thought and if you’d like to speak to me all you have to do is either email me at info@andrewsmithlifecoach.com or call me now on 0800 085 8056 that’s if you’re in the UK or Internationally on +44 114 251 4951 and we can arrange the best time and date for you to experience your own free Life Coaching session.

Hi there, this is Andrew Smith International Life Coach with a question for you: The question today is “What are the thoughts and concepts that you grow in your mind?”
Every thought we have is like a seed! It will if it’s nurtured grow into something very real! Half of the problems we have as human beings are down to the fact that we focus on the negative; and the other half is that we don’t follow through and take the actions that we know we should. But like day and night, up and down, inside and outside, summer and winter, in a dualistic universe there are two sides to everything!
If you are having a negative thought, it automatically follows that there must be a positive side to the way in which you are thinking. I’m not arguing that we should ignore the negatives that are around us. Sometimes our survival through to another day may well depend on our awareness of the negatives and our need to take immediate action, to avoid calamity. However, I would suggest that when we find ourselves struggling with negative thinking, we need to consider the other side of the coin and in doing so avoid fear based, long term negativity.
If we chose to focus on the positive and on improvement, and moving forward in our lives, always seeing where we are, right now, as the springboard to the next great triumph in our lives; then we will never be far off the right track! We need to be always focusing on the next step along the way. What is the next action we should take to make sure our dreams come true? How can we improve the outcome this time? What new inspiration have we found that we can make use of, since the last time we found ourselves in the situation that we now face? How can we make sure we stand out from the crowd, and achieve the things that others will look up to?
I know that Life Coaches have tools and strategies to share with you that can keep your life on the fast track to your ultimate success! The first life coaching session I share with people is offered on a complimentary basis, to allow prospective clients to decide if coaching is for them and to see if I am the right coach! I usually work over the telephone or Skype with my clients. So you have nothing to lose by taking me up on my offer of a free life coaching session. Having a Coach in my experience is life changing!

Hi there, this is Andrew Smith International Life Coach with a question for you: The question today is “Do you want to stop procrastinating?”
I thought it would be a good thing to call time on mundanity, excuses, blaming others, justifying our actions or lack of them and finally to commit ourselves to achieving our dreams. So, I wrote an inspirational poem, called “Time,” I’d love to know what you think of it? (My contact details are at the foot of this blog.)
“Time” by Andrew Smith Life Coach
time to reach much deeper
than you’ve ever reached before
time to make the breakthrough
the wall is just a door
don’t think too much about them
the things that hold you back
overcome your fears, face the future
rejection’s a pat on the back
it’s only when our self belief
grows stronger by the day
that we no longer care for
the things that people say
you know it all makes sense
to give your all, your best
so why do you keep refusing
to face the final test
time to be willing and hopeful
for all you dream could be yours
the only way is upward
you are your worthy cause
Many of our problems lie in being unable or unwilling to see that we are doing some of the negative and dis-empowering things I spoke of, before I read my poem. We all create our own reality, so if you don’t like your world as it is, I know from personal experience, that having a life coach will help you to be able to “see the wood for the trees.” I believe that if I was your life coach that together we could create the reality that you have desired for so long!
Jesus said “All things are possible, for those who believe!”
I’m a believer! A believer that you can have just what you want in your life; so would you like to work with me? The first session is offered on a purely complimentary basis, so if you’re interested please contact me and we will talk about the possibilities that life coaching can open up for you.

Hi there, this is Andrew Smith International Life Coach with a question for you: The question today is: “Do you keep doing the same things over and over again, and then expect different results?”
It took me less than two weeks to very enjoyably plough my way through the last of the seven Harry Potter books. Everyone kept asking me if I wanted to know what happened, or asked me if I thought Harry would die at the end?
JK Rowling is not only a wonderful story writer, but her life is also a wonderful story too! JK was a single Mum in Scotland when she began writing her Wizarding Tales. She originally used to sit in a local coffee bar, to write her Harry Potter stories, because she couldn’t afford the heating bill at home in the winter months!
There are many people who started with very little in life and have become wealthy like JK Rowling. I’m not just referring to wealth in monetary terms. I ask you to consider people who were born orphans, who grew up to have a great family life with their own partner and children; and people born slaves who became freemen.
Whatever you want in your life is worth working for and when things don’t go the way you want them to, you need to change your approach, till you get the outcome that you’re looking for. Doing the same things over and over and expecting different results is in my opinion a form of insanity. So mix it up, make your life interesting, but never take your eyes off your goals and they won’t escape you!
Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge, it’s the preview of life’s coming attractions!” In some ways that may seem to tell us the end of the story too soon, but the truth of the matter is, it’s the road and not the inn! The journey and not the arrival, which is what this life is all about! So decide where you want to go and have a ball, on the way to your goals.
Dr Richard Bandler who is the founder of the NLP movement says: “Failure isn’t possible unless you’re willing to put a date on it!”

Hi there, this is Andrew Smith International Life Coach with a question for you: The question today is “When does life begin, for the sentient adult?”
In recent months I have been in conversation with people who have reached or are about to reach the ages of 40 or 50, here’s what I’ve been telling them of my own experience.
People used to say that “Life begins at 40!”, but due to how much longer people are living, I suggest that the saying should be “Life begins at 50!” From my own personal experience, I am able to wholeheartedly endorse this statement.
You see, although I really enjoyed my 40th birthday party, with my family and so many good friends who were there, technically I was only 39 on that Friday night.
It was on the Sunday of my birthday, after my parents had returned home on a bleak and foggy November day, I felt like my life was over; that I was only here to aid my children as they grew up. However when I got to 50, I felt more alive than I had ever felt before! Don’t despair, life is sweet at age 50 and beyond, I promise you!
What ever your age is today, you can decide to have a wonderful life from right now, this minute! You are the one that runs the thoughts in your head; you choose whether to feel happy or sad. You get to decide moment by moment just how to feel. Maybe we should change the statement from “Life begins at forty!” not to “Life begins at 50!” but to “Life on your terms begins, whenever you decide to focus on living it your way!”
So when does life begin for the sentient adult? I suggest it’s the day you decide to focus on living your life, your way. In conclusion Ralph Waldo Emerson said:” Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you, that you’re wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.”

Hi there, this is Andrew Smith International Life Coach with a question for you: The question today is “What is the meaning of your life?”
Many years ago when I first started my own study into Personal Development something I heard Tony Robbins say really challenged my preconceived ideas. He said “Life has no meaning, except for the meaning you give it!”
At first I thought that this statement was a very negative one. Of course life has a meaning I said, even though I knew not everyone knew what it was. I had been taught many Christian beliefs from an early age and these beliefs were the ones I thought everyone should adopt to give meaning and purpose to their lives.
But then I thought about the statement for a long time afterwards, it really troubled me; maybe Tony was right and my preconceived ideas were wrong? The more I puzzled the statement through, the more I realized that the belief system I had been taught was the meaning I had given to my life, which proved to me that both my own set of beliefs and what Tony said were correct at the same time.
As a Life Coach, I am aware that each person has their own unique belief system and it is not my intention to have them adopt mine. However, part of the journey of discovery that I engage in with my clients, is to find out if their belief system is helping them or hindering them from getting to where they want to be in their lives.
I really didn’t like the idea of having different beliefs to the ones I’d been taught and brought up with, beliefs that had worked for millions of others down the centuries. I didn’t want to give up the security and the continuity I felt with my parents and grandparents and yet I understood the principle that if these beliefs were holding me back in my life I needed to synthesize my old beliefs with some new ones that would help to propel me further than I’d been able to get before in my life.
Einstein said “We can’t solve our problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” Maybe a Life Coach is just what you need to help you find a new perspective in your thinking to help you to move on in your life?
I hope that I’ve given you food for thought and if you’d like to speak to me all you have to do is either email me at info@andrewsmithlifecoach.com or call me now on 0800 085 8056 that’s if you’re in the UK or Internationally on +44 114 251 4951 and we can arrange the best time and date for you to experience your own free Life Coaching session.

Hi there, this is Andrew Smith International Life Coach with a question for you: The question today is “Do you know what you want out of your life?”
If you know what you want, then a Life Coach can help you to get it! If you’re not sure what it is that you want; then a Life Coach can help you discover what it is that will make you feel fulfilled!
We all have desires; but how can we stop procrastinating and get the determination, confidence and tenacity to achieve all our desires? The process is made so much easier when you have someone alongside you to confidentially and without the fear of being ridiculed, to bounce your ideas off and for them to sometimes suggest new ideas into the mix, because it might give you the clarity that you need to have on the way to getting your goals. That’s what a Life Coach does!
Of course a Life Coach has many tools that they can use to help you to discover how to live the life of your dreams; but it is really in the ongoing interaction and rapport of your conversations with the coach, where I believe the coach can prove their lasting benefit to your life.
I initially coached people with many different goals in mind and then I worked as a Master Coach alongside New Insights as a mentor of trainee Life Coaches. I have, more recently switched the focus of my work to be with musicians, especially singer songwriters which is now my main niche market alongside working with members of the general public.
Now it’s your turn to decide whether Life Coaching is for you, why not contact me today? You’ve got nothing to lose and clarity, direction and purpose for your life to gain!

Hi there, this is Andrew Smith International Life Coach with a question for you: The question today is “Have you got off the mark yet, on the way to your goals?”
To get where you want to go in your life you must take action! As we’ve heard many times before “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step!” Maybe today is the day for you to take that very first step in moving towards your long held ambition and goal?
That single step it’s all you need! It’s what’s known as “inertia,” now you are moving and if you take a second step, even if it’s only a small one you will have something more than inertia, you’ll have momentum! All that’s necessary then is to keep the momentum going by committing yourself to moving towards your desired destination every day, until you arrive!
The steps we take sometimes have the opposite effect of that which we intended them to have, but that isn’t a time to be discouraged. Why do I say that? Well, when a plane takes off its crew and passengers have a certain destination in mind. Yet any pilot will tell you, there are many course corrections to be made along the way; because of the other flights in the air at the same time, the direction of the wind and the present weather conditions.
It’s the same with our lives and our goals; we know where we want to go, but if something we do has had a negative result, all we need to do is make a course correction and we will be back on tract to our goals, to our destination.
I challenge you to take a single step in the direction of your dreams today and remember that the help of a coach is only a phone call or an e-mail away.

Hi there, this is Andrew Smith International Life Coach with a question for you: The question today is “Is your sense of reality, both accurate and intelligent?” Most people who say “Be realistic!” maybe don’t realize it or wouldn’t admit it, but nevertheless they are living in fear.
Often because of past disappointments and their own perceived failures these people have become afraid of letting themselves down again. They have developed their limiting beliefs to protect themselves, but it is these same beliefs that cause them to hesitate and shy away from the risks they think exist and as a result prevent them from giving their all; consequently they get limiting and limited results. Their limiting beliefs become part of a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Great leaders are rarely “realistic” by other people’s standards. They are, however, accurate and intelligent. Mahatma Gandhi believed he could gain autonomy for India by peacefully and non-violently opposing Great Britain, something that had never been done before. He wasn’t being realistic, but he has certainly been proved to be accurate.
Everyone told Roger Bannister to be realistic, that no-one had ever run a mile in under four minutes and that no-one ever would! Yet they were proved by Roger to be unrealistic themselves on 6 May 1954 at Oxford when he completed the first sub four-minute mile, in three minutes fifty nine point four seconds on the University’s Iffley Road Track.
It’s interesting to note that within three months of Bannister proving that a man could run a mile in less than four minutes; almost 20 other athletes had literally followed in his foot steps. Since that time many others have not only completed the mile in less than four minutes, but the record is now held by the Moroccan, Hitcham Guerrouj who ran the mile in 3 minutes 43.13 seconds in Rome in 1999.
Which of your so-called realistic beliefs should you shun? What exciting, new, unrealistic but entirely possible expectations are there, that you should embrace? Please let me know if you’d like to explore the possibilities that your life has yet to embrace!

Hi there, this is Andrew Smith International Life Coach with a question for you: The question today is “When are you too old to succeed in your dream career?
How old is too old, to become successful within the career path of your choice? I personally don’t believe there are any age limits, to most careers that people consider themselves “too old” for. I have a slight suspicion that these same people used to think of themselves in terms of being “too young,” to do other things at an earlier point in their lives. I think the reason why so few older people “make the grade” is because they’ve given up on the idea of being able to make a living in the way they always wanted to!
In every biography or auto-biography I’ve read over the years and they are a particular passion of mine. The people whose stories I’ve read, have one thing in common - they never, ever, EVER give up on their dreams, until their dreams become their reality! I think of Colonel Sanders, whose KFC business was started by him after he retired. I think of Abraham Lincoln who had tried so many times over thirty years and failed to be elected to public office, before finally being elected President of the United States at the age of 60! I think of Winston Churchill who had many failures in his army and political life, before he had his “finest hour” in his 70’s!
In music, Tina Turner was 45 before she became a massive star, although she had a couple of hits “River Deep Mountain High” in the 60’s and “Nutbush City Limits” in the 70’s; it wasn’t until she believed in herself, as being a great entertainer that she became the one who “strutted her stuff” to world acclaim. Gordon Haskell had always been involved in music but it wasn’t until at age 55 that he had a massive hit with “How Wonderful You Are” at Christmas 2001 selling 400,000 copies and becoming the most requested song on UK radio ever! His album “Harry’s Bar” also sold in large quantities too here in the UK, in early 2002.
Are you still unconvinced that it is still worthwhile to take the plunge and make your passion into your income? All I’d say to you is that’s exactly what I did at the beginning of 2006 and I must say I often wonder what it could have been like had I made that decision much earlier. I’m living my dream and I can thoroughly recommend doing that to anyone!
The course I went through myself with my life coach Sharon, at the beginning of my Life Coach training is the one I now present to others, mainly by telephone or on Skype over the internet, which gives my clients the tools to help them achieve their dreams.
Too old? Only if you think you are!
I hope that I’ve given you food for thought and if you’d like to speak to me all you have to do is either email me at info@andrewsmithlifecoach.com or call me now on 0800 085 8056 if you’re in the UK or Internationally on +44 114 251 4951 and we can arrange the best time and date for you to experience your own free Life Coaching session.
